Two Unexpected High Cholesterol Signs

According to foreign media outlet The Sun, elevated cholesterol levels faced by people who tend to live sedentary lifestyles and eat poorly can be self-recognized by two signs on their feet.

The article says:- “If you notice that your toenails have become brittle or slowed down in growth, but no other lifestyle changes have occurred, this is an original reason to have a medical checkup.”
As the experts at the British Heart Foundation point out, the reason for this is that high cholesterol makes it difficult for blood to flow to the legs.
The second factor that should raise red flags is changes in the appearance of the skin that indicate a lack of blood supply.
The article states:- “In the case of peripheral vascular disease, hair growth on the legs slows down, the skin turns white or blue, non-healing wounds or ulcers appear, nails become thicker and opaque, and muscles can become numb and heavy.”
The authors of the article concluded that people at risk of getting high cholesterol also include those with high blood pressure and diabetes.
